Fashion Friday: Part 1

I will admit upfront that I'm not the most fashionable person. I currently rotate through five different outfits for work because a) it's easy and b) I'm working on losing weight and I don't want to spend money on clothes that (hopefully) won't fit much longer. BUT, I love fashion and I love checking out the latest trends. I'm one of those people who believes Christian Louboutin's are works of art, not just a pretty shoe. Because of all this, I have decided that every Friday I will do some sort of fashion related post. Today I'm discussing wedding dresses.

No, I'm not getting married -- far from it, actually. However, I did find out this morning that my brother proposed to his girlfriend last night. This is, in fact, good news. My family loves her and she is my brother's perfect match.

The reason why I wanted to mention wedding dresses today (well, one wedding dress) is because I ran across a post on People.com about Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen designing a wedding dress for a friend.

I love this dress for many reasons. The lace is gorgeous, I love the Bohemian aesthetic, it's fun, flirty, feminine and flatters the bride spectacularly. Here it is from the back:

The veil was also created by Mary Kate and Ashley. To me, everything looks flawless. I wish we had photos of the Manolo Blahnik slides. I bet they were gorgeous as well.

When my day comes, I hope to find something similar. This one is simply stunning.

an introduction of sorts

I'm terrible at blogs. I've started and stopped more than I care to admit. However, lately I've found myself needing an outlet of sorts. I have all these ideas or thoughts running around in my brain and they need a place to live. That place will be here. From dates, to books, to funny gifs and postings I find online, all will go here. I don't expect to have many readers (mainly because I won't promote it much, if at all) so I know this will be a relatively safe place for me to jot down my thoughts, feelings, etc. If someone does happen to stumble across this space -- cool. I hope they (or you) enjoy what I have to say. If they (or you) have any advice -- all the better! Hopefully with time this space will transform into something cohesive and whole. At the moment, it will most likely consist of broken fragments, dreams, and whatever else I feel like putting here. Enjoy.
